Ryan learned to
love skateboarding in Hawaii while we lived at Schofield Barracks. He spent many, many hours practicing all over Schofield
Barracks and at Hickam Skate Park. The guys convinced the leadership on post to invite the kids who skated at Schofield
to come talk about how to design a skate park to be built there. Ryan and some of his friends attended the meeting and
went on to design their concept of an ideal park for the limited resources there. We left Hawaii before the park was
finished but this result of their designwas finished in 1999.
